Your Role and Responsibilities
IBM Technology Lifecycle Services (TLS) is expanded its footprint in Switzerland and looking for talented On-Site Engineers (OSE). On-Site Engineers are Software system engineers providing infrastructure-based Services. Your typical activities will include supporting your assigned clients on-site their respective premises in the following activities:
- Planning, implementing, configuration, using, maintaining, debugging, and upgrading products of defined IBM Software.
- Perform architecture, engineering, design and implementation tasks.
- Triage the communication between client contacts and wider IBM organisation; e.g. access to IBM’s Software laboratory support for problem determination and to submit relevant information rapidly.
- Track, follow-up, escalate and coordinate resolution of reported Problem Management Reports.
Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- Expert knowledge of IBM Mainframe and z/OS.
- Knowledge in at least two of the following technologies: DB2, CICS, Websphere, GDPS, performance tuning, automation or hardware configuration management.
- High service orientation and consultancy mindset; the role requires establishing a strong network in your client on technical expert and management level.
- Fluent German and / or English language skills.
- Willingness to work on-site client premises, especially in Zürich, Bern and Basel area.
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
- Experience in a Mainframe technical expert or consultancy role.
- Experience working in a global virtual team.
- IBM technical certifications, especially related to IBM Mainframe and z/OS, are a plus.
