Key Responsibilities:
1. Support Classroom Activities: Collaborate with teachers to facilitate and enhance the learning experience of students. Assist in planning and implementing engaging lesson activities that cater to diverse learning styles and abilities.
2. Individualized Assistance: Provide one-on-one support to students who require extra attention, ensuring their learning needs are met and helping them achieve their full potential.
3. Behavior and Classroom Management: Maintain a positive and inclusive learning environment by promoting good behavior and discipline within the classroom. Handle challenging situations with patience, empathy, and effective communication.
4. Educational Resource Management: Assist in preparing and organizing teaching materials, resources, and equipment to enhance classroom effectiveness and student engagement.
5. Monitoring Progress: Monitor and record student progress, noting areas of improvement and areas that need further attention. Provide feedback to teachers and parents regarding student performance.
6. Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support: Work closely with SEN students, understanding their individual requirements, and providing tailored support to ensure their successful participation in classroom activities.
7. Health and Safety: Ensure the safety and well-being of students during class time and school-related activities. Be aware of health and safety protocols and adhere to safeguarding policies.
8. Extra-Curricular Involvement: Assist in organizing and participating in extra-curricular activities, such as sports, art, and community events, fostering a well-rounded educational experience for students.
Requirements:
- A minimum of a High School Diploma (or equivalent) is required. A relevant qualification in education or child development will be an advantage.
- Previous experience in a teaching assistant role or working with children is preferred, but not mandatory. We welcome applications from individuals with a passion for education and a willingness to learn.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential to build positive relationships with students, teachers, and parents.
- Patience, empathy, and the ability to adapt to various learning styles are key attributes for this role.
