Taitara Mahi – Director, Strategic Projects

Permanent full-time

As a Director, Strategic Projects, you will be at the forefront of driving our most critical initiatives. You will play a pivotal role in delivering outcomes to our communities future by leading and overseeing multifaceted projects from inception to successful completion.

Hastings District Council is looking for experienced Strategic Project professional to lead the Strategic Projects very competent team in delivery of Council strategic projects, key account services, strategic evaluations of existing Council assets and services and major business case development.

Reporting to the Group Manager: Strategy & Development, you will also work closely with the Executive team to provide strategic recommendations and advice on pivotal strategic projects.

As a seasoned Project Manager, you will be required to bring to this role:

  • A professional qualification in project management, planning, finance, or a related field backed by extensive experience in project and strategic management in large and multi disciplined/faceted organisation/s.
  • Proven experience as a Project Manager, successfully leading complex strategic projects. Exceptional strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities
  • Strong leadership and communications skills, with the ability to influence and motivate teams
  • Proficient in project management methodologies and tools
