Senior Business Data Analyst

We currently have a vacancy for a Senior Business Data Analyst on contract of indefinite duration. These roles are aligned with the Bank Professional 2 grade and the BP2 salary scale, between €82,466 and €103,957 applies. Please click here for further information on our salary scales.

The purpose of the role is to work with data to generate information and insights for the Central Bank in collaboration with Technical Data Analysts and business analytics teams.

Responsibilities:
  • Build in-depth understanding of specific business areas and their key data drivers with a view to improving how they acquire, validate, process, analyse and disseminate data. Work collaboratively with business stakeholders to ensure we maximise the use of available data,
  • Support the development, maintenance and support of data products that meet the individual needs of business users.
  • Work collaboratively with multiple business stakeholders and technical staff to identify, shape and evaluate new ideas with reference to data management and analytics, and support effective business change to a more empowered, self-service, data-centric way of working
  • Support a culture of continuous improvement by investigating and evaluating new tools and techniques for data analysis, by developing and enhancing data management standards and processes / practices, and supporting the uplift of analytics capability across the Bank. Provide mentoring and support to more junior members of the team and in the on-boarding of new hires and contractors
Requirements:
  • Masters in IT, Data Analytics or Statistics
  • 7 years post-qualification experience in a similar role with at least 3 years experience in supporting the development of data analytics solutions, ideally in the financial sector
  • Expertise and specialist knowledge in the area of data analysis and strong business knowledge in one or more areas of Central Banking, Financial Regulation and Analytics.
  • Strong knowledge of data modelling and database technologies including querying and scripting in SQL
  • Broad understanding and experience with real-time analytics and business intelligence platforms such as Tableau, QlikView, MicroStrategy, etc.
  • Data modelling experience with the ability to test hypotheses and explain results in clear and concise reports
  • Some knowledge of general purpose programming and scripting languages
  • Excellent verbal, interpersonal, and written communication skills
  • Ability to communicate complex findings and ideas in plain language
  • Strong presentation skills and confident working at all business levels
  • Ability to work self-directed and to take problems and develop proposals and solutions
  • Proactively seeking clarification of requirements and direction; take responsibility when needed
  • Ability to change direction quickly based on data analysis
  • Ability to work in challenging situations when timely insights into data is key
