The Junior Project Manager is responsible for overseeing custom and business projects delivered by a cross functional team with the primary function to ensure delivery as per required specifications, deadlines, and budget, on both new and exisiting client projects and internal business projects.
They are highly knowledgeable and technically proficient team member. They possess a wide variety of skills and knowledge to manage complex and varied tasks, and they act in a supervisory capacity coordinating and overseeing the day-to-day work and assignments of a group of team members.
They are responsible for planning, executing and supervising team members tasks and assignments, reviewing progress and evaluating results to ensure that the team meets its deadlines and deliverables.
The Junior Project Manager will be required to work closely with the People, Growth, Finance, and Data & Tech Business Partners. They will work collaboratively with the Head of the IT Project Office, IT Executive: Internal Services, and Heads of Business. They will work under senior supervision and are involved in training and developing the capability.
The Junior Project Manager will be required to utilize a broad set of skills (project management, technical and general management) to ensure that the project team is well managed and delivers a superior service timeously.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Matric
- Suitable Tertiary Degree/Diploma or Relevant Certification in a Project Management, Commerce or IT related field.
Minimum Experience:
- 2 or more years relevant experience within a data centric environment with 1 year supervisory or team management experience.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Proficient in the use of Excel, Microsoft Office and other software and systems such as SharePoint & MS Teams
- Highly proficient in the use of a project management tool such as JIRA, ClickUp, etc.
- Knowledge and understanding of Scrum/Agile methodologies
