JOB PURPOSE
As a Financial Accountant, you will play a key role in the organization's financial reporting, analysis, and compliance focusing on the Groups Finnish, UK, Dutch and US entities.
Your primary responsibilities will revolve around maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, conducting reconciliations, and ensuring adherence to accounting standards and regulations. You will collaborate with various teams to support decision-making processes and provide insights into the company's financial performance.

MAIN AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY
- Financial Reporting: Prepare and analyse financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements. Ensure compliance with GAAP, IFRS, or other relevant accounting principles.
- General Ledger Management: Maintain the integrity of the general ledger by accurately recording and classifying financial transactions. Perform month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Reconciliation: Conduct timely and accurate account reconciliations for balance sheet accounts, such as bank accounts, accounts receivable, accounts payable, inventory and intercompany.
- Financial Analysis: Analyse financial data and performance metrics to provide meaningful insights into trends, variances, and areas for improvement. Collaborate with management to interpret results and support decision-making.
- Budgeting and Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and financial forecasts. Monitor actual performance against budgeted figures and investigate significant deviations.
- Internal Controls: Ensure compliance with internal control procedures and identify opportunities for process improvements. Assist in external audits, providing necessary documentation and explanations.
- Accounts Receivable: ensure timely and accurate processing of customer invoices, monitoring outstanding balances, and actively following up on payments.
- Treasury and Cash Management: assist in managing the entities cash flow, liquidity and risk.
- Tax Compliance: Support tax compliance efforts by providing accurate financial data and assisting in the preparation of tax returns and related filings.
- Compliance and Regulatory Reporting: Prepare financial reports required by regulatory authorities and ensure compliance with statutory reporting requirements.
- Fixed Assets Management: Oversee the recording and depreciation of fixed assets. Conduct periodic asset audits to ensure accuracy and proper recording.
- Financial Systems and Software: Utilize financial accounting software and systems effectively to streamline processes and enhance reporting capabilities.
- Cross-Functional Collaboration: Collaborate with various departments, such as finance and operations, to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide financial support for business initiatives.
- Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process enhancements and automation to increase efficiency and accuracy in financial reporting and analysis.
EXPERIENCE & QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field. ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or other relevant certifications are preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 2-5 years) as a Financial Accountant or in a similar accounting role.
- Newly qualified accountant with ‘Big 4’ or ‘Top 10’ professional accounting firm experience.
SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED
- Strong knowledge of accounting principles, financial reporting, and financial analysis.
- Proficiency in using financial accounting software and MS Excel for data analysis.
- Attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to meet tight deadlines.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for identifying discrepancies.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills to collaborate effectively with team members and stakeholders.
- Languages; fluent in English (read, written, spoken).
